NEW PARENT FAQs: We've all been there...
Where can I find the school supply list? - Our annual School Tool Box sale typically goes live in May/June each year, which can be found here for the 25/26 school year. The PTA has requested supply lists from the teachers and set up the School ToolBox link for you to purchase your supplies. School Tool Box is provided by the PTA to help make your back-to-school shopping easy. Purchase all your child's supplies with one click & the box is shipped direct to you. But you are of course welcome to use the list as a reference and purchase your back-to-school supplies anywhere you wish.
Can I buy Nut Swamp gear (t-shirts etc) for my student? -Yes! The PTA hosts an online spirit wear store 2x each year - once in the fall and again in the spring. During those limited-time sales we offer items like hoodies, sweatpants, zip-ups, tie-dye & more. Your child will also receive a Nut Swamp t-shirt as a gift from the PTA that will be worn throughout the year for various events such as class trips and fun day.
When do teacher assignments come out? - Teacher assignments will be posted Friday August 22nd, in Genesis. The school office sent out an email with information on July 28th.
What's the APR? - The All-Purpose Room...aka the Cafeteria...aka the Gym...aka Where Nut Swamp grown-up registered voters comes to vote every June & November. It's all the same room.
What about allergies? Is there anything I shouldn't pack for snack/lunch? - Typically the school nurse will discuss allergy policies at Kindergarten orientation. If your child is in a class with students who have food allergies, a note will be sent home the first day of school to notify you and let you know what foods cannot be brought into the classroom.
What is the first day of school like? What happens when the kids get off the bus? - All of the specials teachers and a lot of the support staff will be waiting outside on the first day to assist students when they arrive and direct them. We will also have our 5th Grade Angels who will be able to walk incoming students to their classroom. Please Note: If you are dropping your student at school, please stay outside of the school. We have lots of people ready to help your child get to class!
Don't forget: We want to see those first day of school smiles for our yearbook. Take lots of photos!
